breaks up @ steady throttle
my car breaks up as soon as i stay at steady throttle... i looked over everything i think it could be and took it to a couple shops and they dont know anything either... if anyone has any imput please let me know...
A bad or failing TPS could be the problem. They have a carbon resistor film that can wear out. This causes the voltage to vary and throws the ECM a curve.Hook up an ohmmeter and see if the resistance rises and falls smoothly with no dead spots. You have to unhook the car's wiring harness from the TPS to do this test.
i probably should have mentioned it before hand but this all started after i installed my Cobra upper and lower intake manifolds and i had to take the distributer out... i adjusted it to stock settings using a timing light so im sure thats fine... i wonder if it could be the cause of a misplaced vacuum line or something simple. the car ran perfect before the upper and lower
