Default Cottman tranny ???????ssss

I just took my car to cottomans today cause on friday i was driveing and i was in third gear going about 50mph and put overdrive on and all my car did was rev and not move and then i shut OD off and it went back down to the last gear and was fine, so i had no OD and i stopped the car and tried 100 diffrent things to try and get it to work but no luck, but i took it there today and they said the hooked it up to the computer and they found no codes that came back and they dropped the pan and there was not metel in it but they said the problem was internal to the tranny and needed to take it out to find out, but i want to know if anyone else ran into this problem and what the fix was so i dont get ripped off by this place and they tell me that they'll have to rebuild my tranny. its a 99 GT with a new tranny about a year old. please help out a fellow stanger from getting ripped off

Inotice you have a chip. This could be your problem because they can lose their minds and cause all kinds of trouble.
Correct me if I'm wrong but Cottman is a remove and replace shop.If they "rebuild" your transmission you get a rebuilt unit off the shelf and they send your old unit to a rebuilder plant to be recycled into a rebuild for someone else.I would prefer to keep my own transmission and have it rebuilt rather than one of questionable origin.

Where are you at? My friends own a cottman transmission here where i live and most of there trannys they rebuild themselves. There shop has a whole nother room just for rebuilding. But yes they do by trannys from dealers and stuff that have to many to put into cars as well.
