Default SN-95 94-04 whats best?

I am looking to buy a sn-95 mustang and i had a couple questions, is it better to go 5.0 or 4.6? i plan on just adding exhaust intake and a few bolt ons nothing crazy. if i go4.6 is there any advantages to the 99 to 04 bodystyle besides looks? i really like the 99 to 04 style but the 94-98 is good too. I am trying to get one fairly cheap, and i plan to not do too much to it for at least a year or 2 and its of courseits gotta be 5spd.

I would go with a 94 or 95 with the 5.0 engine but I am a bit biased lol. If you are wanting to go4.6 then go 99+ that way you get the PI heads and intake, that engine runs alot stronger than the weaker 96-98's.

Go for the '99-04 4.6 for the reason red95 said, especially if you're NOT planning on doing many mods. 5.0 is great mod material but, stock-for-stock the PI 4.6 is a better engine

I would say if you plan on modding it, the 5.0 is a much cheaper/easier engine to mod in my opinion. 5.0's are famous for how well they respond to mods, and there are TONS of parts out there for very good prices for the 5.0....If, however, you are not planning on modding the crap out of it, the 99+ cars are much better engines stock if you ask me. They are like second quicker in the quarter mile if im not mistaken...i could be way off so hopefully someone will chime in on that. Anyways good luck, and just do what you want, and dont let any of us make the decision for you.

thanks alot guys, i always end up modding a car out, my last was a 2000 turbo honda civic(no big wings or neons just smooth lines), but its time for some american muscle. thanks for all the input. i guess i just got to figure out ifi am going tohook it up or justleave it alone. one thing i really want to do regardless is put on the roush style side skirts with side exit exhaust, has anyone ever done this mod? thanks again

I hate to ask so many questions on the same thread but how are the sn-95's in convertable, i like a hard top but i would take a convertable at a good deal, are they way less rigid? and besides being louder inside are they a pain in the a** with leaks and things? thanks again guys and sorry for so many questions

We have a vert and it drives fine, it feels pretty tight in the corners and handles well. I have never noticed any leaks in it but their is bit more wind noise at high speed especially with the top down lol. We love the vert though, it is alot of fun to cruise around at night with the top down in the summer time.

I am a NPI 4.6 guy and would recommend the 5.0. Parts are cheaper and easier to find. The PI GT's are great but the 5.0 has excellent potential.
