got a 65 from a buddy and after six months oor so of to and from school and work the trans starts to slip in all and only forward gears so naturally i take it home and check fluids (level and condition) change the oil and filter and it fixed the problem took the car for a drive and itstarts to slip after about a 1/4 mile but same as the first time if is only the forward gears reverse works fine

any ideas please dont rule out any thing the 1 2 andor 3 P/O aren't good with cars and get screwed over by badmechanics

It's probably thebands inside the tranny. When they become old or held in gear eg; racing to get the most out of her the bands stretch and loose there grip. Iwould bet 100% that it is your bands if its an auto box.
