Not exactly a Mustang...
Hey, I posted this in Off Topic but didnt get any help there. My Ranger I bought when I had to sell my stang is giving me problems:
My03 Ranger that I sold my Mustang for is being a pain in the ***. This is what it is doing, Ill start driving in 1st gear, and bring it up to about 2500RPM then Ill release the accelerator and push in the clutch pedal and shift to 2nd, but the engine keeps on revving right where I left it at 2500RPM and stays there until I let the clutch out and the clutch forces it to slow down causing the truck to make an annoying lurch. And it will do this between every gear sometimes. If it doesnt completely hang like that sometimes, the RPMs drop veeery slowly until I release the clutch and force it down. Now what really makes things confusing is that other times, it acts perfectly normal, RPMs rise and fall like they should. Not that the RPMs only hang while the truck is moving, as soon as I stop they immediately drop down to idle.
Today I was pulling out of the sports authority parking lot and I didnt even touch the gas coming out of the parking space, I just released the clutch slowly and the truck took off and eventually accellerated up to about 1500 RPM all by itself, this thing is insane. Nobody seems to know what it could be, does anyone here have any ideas about it? thanks.
UPDATE: Today I shelled out $300 to the Ford dealer to have them do a diagnostic, and then replace the Idle Air Control Valve assembly, they said it should fix the problem but I got it back today and drove it to school and back and Im still having the same exact problem. I know this has to be killing my clutch since its always being used to force the engine to slow down, does anyone have any idea what it may be? My bro in law thinks maybe the accellerator cable is stuck but I dont think so since it only does it when the truck is moving. Thanks in advance.
