ok so i just bought a 351w complete motor from top to bottom. i want to put it into an 87 stang but waht mods should i do before i put it in. i plan on taking the motor completely apart and boring it out to .040 or .060 one of those. will i need new headers, and are the stock cylinder heads good, if so i plan on getting those machined as well. i am just wondering what mods should i do to this motor to have it track ready. i already have a pair of drag radials, i just plan on getting in the 10's on all motor. thanks for your help guys

Okay well what are the stats on the motor? forged lower, compression, etc. You will not run 10's on a stock 351W crate motor without a little help.

well right now it is completely stock, i want to bore it out to .040 or possibly .060 then possibly a new victor intake manifold, i already have the 4brll carb. the motor is already carbed so ill just put that one on.

What I needed to run 10's on my Windsor may be different than some but 408ci, 11:5 compression, all forged and balanced lower (rods, pistons and crank) 5axis Victor Jr. intake, Barry Grant 1050 Dominator,CNC AFR 225's, Solid lift cam (.608 117 Lobe Sep.) Harland Sharp rockers, A03 full manual reverse pattern. 9" 5200 stall with trans-brake. And in the end, I wound up spraying it 250, Custom radiator, electric water pump, two unit electric fans.

8.8 R/E 31 Spline axles with 5lug conversion, C/C Elims, adj. upper and lower control arms, anti roll, Koni Adjustable Struts. UPR moly K member, coile overs, Flaming River manual rack, Rear wheel 2 piston caliper disk brake system (wildwood) front 4 piston disk brake system, proportioning valve.

Not all of this is needed to run 10's, it is what I did. On spray 9.78. Street legal only by bizzare interpretation of the law.
