302 engine question.

302 engine question.
Hi, guys
I'm new here and very familiar with the classic Mustang, but not very knowledgeable when it comes to the new ones. Does Ford now make an engine that they call a 302 that is overhead cam?
Thanks for the help.

RE: 302 engine question.
You're thinking prolly of the FRPP 5.0 "cammer." It's based on the DOHC 4.6 modular, but internally is a 5.0 engine in terms of discplacement. It's a 32v DOHC V8 used primarily for racing purposes, Ford offers it in the "out of the box" road race car they make, which I think is the FR500 or the FRC500 or something or other(they keep changing to diff names, but they offer it for entry level into like Grand Am racing). You can also by the 5.0 DOHC for like $15k I think as a crate engine. Ford has designed it primarily for road racing purposes

Here's the $15k version, scaled down but not approved for Grand Am, apperantly they make several versions now
