Default Clutch on V6 vs. V8

Hello all,

Please be patient as I am new to owning a Mustang. All that I have ever driven are imports and I gotta say the Mustang is the best car that I have ever driven.

Now to the question.

I just purchased a 2001 with a V6 (59000 miles) and while shifting gears you have to let the clutch way out before you are moving. So I had to take my Mustang in to get the passenger side window adjusted and the dealer gave me a GT to drive. On the GT you barely let the clutch out and you are taking off. I go back to the dealer and tell him that I think that I need a clutch adjustment on my V6 and he tells me that on the V6 you do in fact have to let the clutch out farther than on the GT and that I do not need the adjustment. He said something about torque and gearing etc. This was a salesman and not a mechanic telling me this. Even on the BMW (and no it is not the ultimate driving experience[:'(]) that I just traded you only had to let the clutch out a few inches before you were moving. So what is correct?

Thanks for any help,
Steve
