Default Clicking in Intake Manifold?

Hey... I have a 2006 Mustang GT. I was driving around the other day and the check engine light came on. I opened the hood and there was a clicking noise that sounded like it was coming from the intake manifold area or the valves. I also have a decrease in gas mileage. has this happened to anyone else? does anyone know what this could be?

thanks

no...its a lot louder than just normal injector noise, but my friend has a yamaha R6 and it started making the same noise a few months back. Yamaha couldnt find anything wrong. I clocked my self this morning, and it is runnung as well as before (just as fast and as responsive) the only thing is the sudden drop in gas mileage (about 3 miles per gallon avg.).

Take your car to Auto Zone or Kragen and they will be able to read the code... that would be the best way to figure out what is wrong.

Good luck!

Ok...so we ran the diagnostic on the engine...

It read "2nd bay running lean" or something of the sort

we figured it may be a clog in the injector so we put some injector cleaner in and hopefully that will work...if anyone has any ideas keep them coming

thanks

Aren't those manifolds computer controlled, with valves that switch from long to short runners as rpm goes up? Could be a problem with a valve maybe?
