Default Heater Core???

I have an 01 GT and I can smell the radiator but the car isn't running hot. The temp gauge has stayed where it always is. I have also noticed hot water coming out near my gas petal from the area of the middle console. I can also see the heat steaming up my front windshield from my defrost vents. I am thinking that it is the heater core and was wanting to get other people opinions on it. Also if anyone can tell me how to replace it myself that would be great. I know it is a pain and know it consist of removing the dash. Any help would be great.

Thanks

Steam on the windshield - - - look no further.
You need to replace the heater core.

Big job
A pro will charge $300 plus just to replace it.

If you know how to remove dash. you can do it.

You can always bypass the hoses to give you
some extra time.
