Thinkin' Bout A Mustang
Hi, I got a question. I'm close to getting my first car and I'm having trouble deciding on what to buy. I really want to get a Mustang, my dad had a '69 Mach 1 for his first car and he loved it. Or I'm getting atruck. So my question is, should I get a Mustang? What kind of gas mileage does it get? I drive about 10 miles to work everyday and I'm probably gonna go to Iowa or North Dakota for college and I live in Maryland, so I need a car that can take the long haul. Mustangs are also picking up a lot in popularity around my area and I just love them. So give me your opinion and thanks for the help.

RE: Thinkin' Bout A Mustang
in my 6 cylinder i get, it is a 2002 5-speed.
highway 28-34 mpg
city 12-22 mpg
it has been on 10, 1700 mile trips, and once was driven for 24 hours straight, stopping only for gas of course. it now has 82k miles on it and runs just like it did when i bought it new. so to answer your question they can take the long haul w/o problem, and the mileage is good on the hwy, and not bad in the city if you drive responsibly. from what i've seen the GT, 94 up seems to get a little less mileage than my six but near the same numbers.

Wow, you must have been having some fun getting as low as 12 city[8D] I occasionaly drive a 03 V6 auto and get 20-22 city with that. My 1990 5.0 5-speed gets ~18 city with full exhaust and minor suspension/tranny mods. Not driving crazy ofcourse....

eff gas milage. its a v6 so its not gonna be nearly as bad as most trucks you wouldn't mind gettin caught in when you run away to college. get the mustang! plus, most chicks find the cars attractive. so if your low in morality then your set for the college life! (joking about that last part, please keep death threats in your own head.)

I was looking at an '03 Mustang, so anywhere from 1999-2004. Did they come with a V8 option? I would really like one. Actually around here, trucks are the chick magnet, loud and jacked up diesels are most popular. But a lot of guys are starting to get Mustangs for the mileage and we all like speed. But if my grades go well and I make some important friends, I may be going to North Carolina for college at Nascar Technical Institute. First mod on any vehicle I get will be exhaust. Thanks for the help guys.

If course there are V8 options on Stangs and I've found the 8's are only about 2mpg less economic than the 6'rs so, go for the 8[8D] the power boost is worth it! I'd think even an 8 in a Stang is gonna have waaay better fuel economy than a 6'r in a pickup
Make sure U get a 5-speed with that 8 too
