Why do I even !@#$%ing bother
So today, I thought id be a smarty know-it-all and change my own oil. I got a FRAM oil filter and 5 quarts of castrol GTX 5W-20.
I drained the pan just fine, although it took me HOURS to get the old filter off, places REALLY put the filter on dont they?
I lubed the new filter, everything came off with the old filter (it looked EXACTLY like the new one), I put the filter on, and tightened by hand (the way I was told you were supposed to), and poured the 5 new quarts of oil into my engine (spilled a LITTLE bit, the funnel was weird).
The car started right up, didn't really notice any weird sounds. Waited a minute and started driving (was late to a friends house). Halfway down the street, heard a weird sound, but the car was still driving fine, so I went to my friends house.
Pulled up to his house, and was idling, ready to kill the ignition, when I heard a very strange sound coming from my engine. It was like a higher pitched engine noise. I looked under the car, and saw a puddle. ****.
Drove it home, and noticed that from where my car was, a long streak of oil was following my car.
Looked under while it was on a jackstand, and it looked like the entire bottom end of my car was covered with oil, dripping. I looked at the filter, where the filter is screwed in there isnt any oil, but at the end of it (where the grip is).
Its too late to take it to a place and end up paying for an oil change anyway, but wtf could have happened?

My roommate actually did the oil drain plug, but I saw him put it back on and tighten it (used a 15mm I believe).
The old oil filter looked like it still had the gasket on it, a big hole in the middle (where it screws on im guessing), and a bunch of smaller holes along the outside of that.
What does the rubber gasket look like?

Yup. Old gasket was still on. I feel retarded once more.
Pulled off the filter this morning, and low and behold, two black plastic rings, !@#$%.
Waiting for my roommate to get up so I can use her car to get 5 more quarts of oil, almost all of what I put in last night leaked out (not onto the driveway, into my oil pan/bucket thing).
