A/C Question

I swapped out my stock pullies (U/D, water pump, alternator)with MotoBlue ones a couple months ago. My A/C stoppedblowing cold airas soon as I installed them. I lived withdriving with the windowsdown for 2 months, but need my A/C back asapbecause I'm selling the car. I heard the aftermarket water pump pulley is what knocks out the A/C, so I changed it 20 mins ago and put in a new belt (1 inch shorter than stock) to compensate. Test drove it, A/C still isn't blowing cold air. WHAT THE FUKK. Can someone help me?!

I've had UDP's on the last two cars I've owned and they didn't effect the A/C at all.I'd start by checking the fuse and if that's OK I'd look for a disconnected wire or a low charge.

Hm. Yea I mean I checked all the basic things that couldve caused the problem... didnt check the fuse though... I was just going to drop it off at the local Ford dealer around here, I have the hook-up haha.

Low pressure switch? I have no idea what that is haha. But you know what, I didnt even check to see if the compressor pulley was turning or not I do know that when I took it out for a test drive after I re-installed the stock water pump pulley and new belt that when I was at the verytop of 2nd itblew cold airfor about 2 seconds.I'll gocheck right nowto see if that pulley's turning at idle though...

Alright well on the way out there I realized that if the pulley wasn't turning, my belt would've been fried by now. I checked it out anyway and it's turning just fine. But what's this low pressure switch and where is it located? I didn't know there was such a thing.

Looking at the pulley turning is not enough.
The pully ALWAYS turns. It is the shaft on the
compressor that turns the compressor piston.
The low pressure switch cuts off the compressor
magnets when the volume of freon is too low.
Sounds like that is the problem. You probably need
to add one can of freon.
You need one can/with oil, a kit to add it.
You will have to short out the low pressure switch
to get the pump to engage and suck in the freon.
The freon goes in a warm bucket of water to keep it
from freezing.

Sounds like something I might want to take to a shop to do... I have no idea where the switch is, how to short it out, or how to add the freon. My neighbor's good with that stuff, I'll ask him. Thanks for the info I'll relay it all to him.
