hahahahahha. irony at its finest. about the only time you should need to launch second is in a 5.0 with a 4 banger tranny (that i can think of)

Starting off in second is perfectly fine. I never have started off in 3rd but I know some people do. As far as racing I always start off in 1st.

When im racing I usually start out in 2nd. But to answer your question, I'm not sure. I have my own beliefs but not sure if they are correct or not.[:@]
Hahaha dude, this explains why you got spanked by your friends fake badged Infin. G35...

Why in the world would you start in 2nd gear???????????????

You know when I first saw your 1st moronic post to me awhile ago I seen your avatar and thought this guy must be an idiot, however, now I am convinced.
Yeah man, I'm the moron that starts racing in 2nd gear with stock 3.27 gears. Dude, what is your problem? I simply asked you a question and you get all butt hurt? You weren't sure if you were 'correct or not' so I told you it wasn't the right way to start a race? Did you forget to take your meds today?

Damn.

Tech question for all of you, what happens when you take off from zero mph on 2nd or even 3rd gear does this f**k-up your engine, or when you shift up when the rpm's are low and shift up is not yet needed, my dad does this a lot with his little truck, he has it on 4th when usually I would still have it on 2nd, does this save you gas, or what does it do to a car ??? always wondered.

thanks!

**** up you engine yes and no yes if you lug it no if you dont.Where it does damage is your clutch.I wont start out in second or third i use first when availible afterall thats why its there isnt it?

Getting up in to the overdrives or higher gears does nothing but wastes shifts unless your cruising at a steady speed.
