Default Shifting

Hey guys,
I just bought a 04 GT 5 speed and I was wondering if someone could give me a little information. This is my first manual car but I have driven stick before. I am still getting use to driving stick and have a question. When starting off i still bounce it a little bit not much. i was wondering what I am doing wrong. same goes when I shift from 1st to 2nd i get a little bounce. WHat am i doing?

How do you know when you need a new clutch? I just want to know so when it happnes i know what needs to be done.
Thanks for the help

egg-zactly! Your either not giving it enough gas, or letting the clutch out too fast. Maybe a little of both? Just remember, smooth and steady until your foot is OFF of the clutch all together. A lot of people have a problem with letting the clutch out till it starts to grab, then dumping it the rest of the way. You just gotta be smooth all the way out.

Your supposed to bounce it off the rev limiter and then pop out the clutch

Just drive our car around everywhere, it becomes second nature

exactly. Then when you become better, start to learn some of the fun little techniques. Heel toe downshift into 2nd around a 90 degree turn and kick the back out, slam third and take off. SO much fun!

Yea I feel ya, I have driven other manual cars, but I just got my own about a month ago. I still do that rarely. But yea I have noticed that if u give it more gas it will normally stop. I hate it when I get to jumpn like that and i accidently make it worse by hitting the accelerator with it.
