DO-IT-YOURSELF PROGRAM KEYFOB!!!
Guys, I have just ran across some very valuable information to save some of you guys some bucks. For all I know it only works on the newer Ford vehicles. You know how you lose a keyfob and you go to the Ford dealership to get another one and get it programmed and they charge you $100+ bucks. You can program it yourself at home and you will be p***** to know how easy it is. All you do is unlock your car, put the key in the ignition and turn the ignition on and off 8 times (not starting the car, just enough for all the lights to come on), after the 8th time, you will hear the locks engaging. You press and hold the lock button down on the keyfob and it programs itself to the car!! And to think when you get that done at the dealership, it takes them 10 seconds to do it and they let it sit 50 more minutes to get theirselves paid a full hours work, lol.
This is true. Did it in my 2002 Expedition. IIRC, it shows how to do it in my manual, at least for the Expy it did. Took my old 2000 Ranger fob and it worked. Avoid the dealer!
