V8 Conversion Questions
Ok, so I have a 2004 V6 (my first mistake hehe) and I want to convert it to a V8 so I can make some nice power gains from it. There simply isnt enough in a 6er for me.
Anyway, I figure to convert from a V6 to a V8 I need to get an engine, transmission, driveshaft, and rear end. I am not mod savvy, and I know that this cant be all I need. Please give me some pointers and info on how to make this a clean transition. Here is what I found on Ebay to get me started as far as ideas are concerned. Let me know if I have the right idea. THATS ONLY A START.....
you need the entire wiring harness from the car to match the engine and trans , the rear end is not complete so you would need the rest, better off getting a complete rear end at 1 time , you need the fuel system ( tank fuel pump and fuel lines) computer and other various electronic parts you will need the dash cluster for a gt or cobra and you will need it all programmed
not including the main components you listed you have $3000.00 in parts needed
i did this with a 1999 gtengine and trans i had 6200.00 total including engine and trans , but thats becuse i got ia deal 1750.00

Srs relay and srsair bags
Abs compressor
Radiator
Overflow tank
Hydramatic brake system( mounting holes are different size needed to redrill out)
Power steering Lines

master cylinder
various relays
I did not use it but it is easier to just get a dif steering collum( because of pats and turn signal switch)
Turn signal switch
Gauge cluster
Exhaust system
Cruise control module and cable
Throttle cable
Air filter set up
4.6 exhaust
Door latches
