Will the bumper support from a 96-98 mustang fit on my 03? I need one. The 03 bumper support isnt rigid enough after I cut it because the whole thing comes togeteher at the middle. The earlier bumper supports are just square and would be much better suited for mounting an intercooler on. I have it mounted at the moment with the intercooler, but its not strong enough to absorb an impact like the earlier ones would. I dont want to have anything that wont be safe in case I hit something.

 

If you mounted the intercooler right in the middle of where the support was, wouldnt you have to cut the new one in the same place? Youd be back to square 1.
