Default T5 Rebuild

Just installed a rebuilt T5, my son started the car before I got home from work yesterday to show his friend how loud the open headers were,Ihad not fill the case yet,he told me this when I got home.
I filled the case and started the car, there is now a clicking / gear noise ? the noise only speeds up under RPM not while in any gear, ran it through all five gears under idle and under throttle, input shaft bearing bad ?

Yes it does but not as loud,as stated ran through all 5 gears with clutchengaged and on jack stands, noise did not increase unless RPM was increased, idle is set at 700 rpm but the noise is not 700 times a minute ? you thinking it might be in the clutch ?

Thanks

not the clutch. my guess is the front bearing. you will have to tear it down to find out for sure. dont buy anything until you know exactly what the problem is.

Found problem was in pressure plate hitting bellhousing on drivers side, bell was made for a 10" clutch, installed a 10.5 as told from seller, good thing I am a retired machinist, machined inside of bell to clear bigger clutch set, no noise at all now.

Finally got the beast on the road sunday evening, had a lot of fun with machining and making the clutch cable work in this 66' Ranchero, nothing like a mustang set up,WOW what a difference with the T-5 instead of C-4 / stall, totally smokes em through 1st & 2nd with 325 posi, gotta get some street slicks to save rubber, did a freeway run let off after hitting 140+ got a little squirly but still had more motor left.
