Default Engine Skipping

Trying to find out what's going on with my car.(01 GT)I've noticed itskipping the last couple of days. It doesn't do it constantly just randomly. Even in fifth gear driving at constant speed it will skip. I was thinking either a fuel or ignition problem? Too I installed a macoff-road h a few weeks ago and of course my MIL is on from that, is there any way it could cause it to skip? Where should I start to figure out the problem?
Thanks in advance

what have you done as far as routine maintinence lately? Changed the plugs and fuel filter? Ran injector cleaner? Sure your battery cable isnt loose and jumping off the terminal sometimes? Does it happen all the time or just when the car warms up?

+1 on a tuneup. Fuel filter, air filter, plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Check plugs atleast. Your MIL is on for the pipe but check for other codes anyway.

Your car is an 01 GT it should be coil on plug no wires, cap, or rotor......have you washed the motor....could be water in the plug holes????

I just recently bought the car about 5 weeks ago so not much maintanence done by myself. I have only changed the oil, added an air intake and exhaust from headers back. but it is a coil on plug set up so i guess i'll start by replacing plugs and hope this works. if not...could be a bad coil pack? is there any way I can test them? And I have washed the engine but that has been about a month ago, don't figure that it's just now causing this problem. But now that I think about it I haven't noticed the problem once I have driven the car a good ways. Keep the suggestions coming....

I have the same problem with my 93 GT. But I'm pretty sure it needs a tune up

Had the same problem with my truck. f-150 w/ 5.4. It was skipping on number 5 cylinder. All I did was change plugs and it quit.
