Just took delivery of my V6 Mustang 3 weeks ago. Discovered that the stereo system - Shaker 500 - did not show CD text. I've tried CD's from the store, as well as a variety of home made burned CD's. ALL of which show CD title, artist, and track name in my wife's Chevy, my beat up old Blazer with a cheap aftermarket CD player in it, AND the even cheaper Wal-mart CD player in my Corvair! I pulled out the trusty owners manual, and it clearly tells me that this stereo should have CD text. Yet, when I put in a CD, I get NO text, on ANY cd. A trip to the dealer last week to fix a stubborn door lock and loose connector in the ISS on the transmission, also included instructions to check out the stereo. Their result was...that the stereo just is NOT one that has the CD Text feature! Is this right? I got some bugaboo story about how all the cars have different systems, blah blah, and this one just dosoen't offer that. Even though the manual says it does. When I push "CD Text" button, I get "No text available". It does give me the text info for satellite radio. Hmm..just had a thought..is it possible CD Text is disabled if you have the satellite option installed? Hmm. What is your experience?
