Default electric fan help!

ive got a '99 GT. new to me, my insurance check from my totalled 5.0 payed for it, but anyways, about a month after i got it, i had it serviced to replace the cracked plastic intake manifold. ive had it back about two weeks, and last night the fan light popped on. the car did not overheat, but i think this was mainly because i was cruising at low RPMs on the highway in the rain. i bet it would overheat at idle, but dont want to try it. anyways, i checked and my fan is not spinning, and i have no clue where to even start on that. whats the most common problem when these things just shut down like that? thanks!

FYI the car is completely stock also.
