Help me! Ait conditioning Problems
I have a 98 Mustang 3.8L. This afternoon, when I turned on the A/C to MaxA/C, the vent blow out the warm air, and the temperature became higher and higher. The temperature controler is at the end of cold ( blue) , no cold air comes out but very hot air and the temperature is very higher than the air outside. It lools like turning on the heat. But yesterday, it worked fine. What is the problem?

I justed experienced a problem very similar to this. In the hotter parts of the day my air condenser would disengage would not even turn. but when it cooled off it kicked right back in and worked fine. Try looking under the hood with the car on, and a/c on and see if your air condenser is working properly. I had to have mine replaced because it was on the brink of seizing up. After replacement, everything worked fine.

The A/C freon charge is probably low and will need to be refilled. The COMPRESSOR will cycle on and off quickly without cooling the air when the refrigerant leaks out.If there are leaks you will have to get them fixed or you'll be adding freon forever.
You can buy a recharge kit at any auto parts store, just make sure it's for the R-134-A freon and not the old R-12.If you want to fix any leaks you can use a florescent dye and an ultaviolet light to find the leaks.
