Default 5 speed to AOD

Converting my Mustang to an AOD for consistency in racing. Question is regarding shifters. The manual and auto car floorpan openings do not match up. I thought maybe the Mustang would have a tunnel piece like the Turbo Coupe has so I could just swap that out but no dice. Anyone know of an automatic shifter that will fit in the manual hole and allow me to keep the center console?

Thanks.

What year is it? If the floorpan is the only problem just cut it. It gets covered up by the console anyway.

I did some checking, you have an 88 correct? You can use the same console for an AOD or T5. Theyre the same. The only difference is the trim plate that goes around the shifter itself. Lift up a corner and pop it off.
