Default battery install

I would like to install the battery in my hatch to assist in weight transferrance, i understand that i will have to use an optima type battery however what type of fuse or breaker do I use? I have enough cable to run from the battery to the starter solenoid but i am unsure of how to fuse it, any help would be greatly appreciated

there is no fuse installed in the line from the postive battery post to the starter solenoid. and you can use any type battery you want if you install it in a battery box and vent the box to the outside of the car. bear in mind if you do take the car to the strip with the battery relocated to the back like this, you will need a master battery shutoff switch mounted on the rear of the car and clearly labeled for the OFF position in order to pass tech at the strip. and the battery must be held down with at least two 3/8" diameter hold downs securely bolted into the floorboard of the vehicle. you can get battery boxes made of metal or poly and switches from Summit Racing or Jegs.

try e-bay for the box as you'll save some $$$ roundy I think has become a saleman for summit*L*.... one thing about the kits is I think the pos cable is too small most use a 2 gauge...I use a 00 gauge but a 0 gauge will work great...also I would buy the largest amp battery you can get in the box. i think you wil have no problem finding a 750 amp

I don't know how relevant it is where you are going to race but Moroso is the only battery box approved by NHRA.
