Default B&M Hammer shifter

Has anyone here installed a B&M hammer ratchet shifter in their fox body? Is it a difficult task? I have all black original interior and do not wish to "trim or cut" anything. My brother got me one of these new in a box but I found out that I have to get a $50.00 linkage kit in order for it to fit but like I said I do not want to have to cut up my interior, also, what are the benefits to having one of these? I just mentioned how cool I thought they were and my brother just showed up with it.

Default RE: B&M Hammer shifter

B&M makes them that are "console mounted" and don't require any mods to the console but don't know if the model you have fits this criteria. you could check the model number at the B&M web site to see if this is the right one for your car. also, the cable kit is required for just about any B&M shifter to use on an AOD tranny, but it won't require any interior mods as it is completely under the hump and replaces the stock cable which connects to the shifter linkage on the tranny.
