I will take a stab at this. Could your contacter for your fuel pump be stuck?

there are two possible sources of this problem, one is the fuel pump relay mounted under the driver's seat and the other is the ECU which gets a signal from the engine that tells it when the engine is running and this allows the ECU to signal the pump to run via the pump relay. if the ECU ain't seeing the engine turn off, then it won't shut off the fuel pump like it should. try replacing the relay first and see if this fixes your problem.
