progressive or specific springs

progressive or specific springs

im thinkin about lowering springs when i get my new shocks/struts. but whats the difference between progressive and specific rate?

Dont quote me on this but I think that, The Progressive rate allow the body to travel while the progressive are basically real stiff and you have no travel causing a real stuiff ride.

do you mean the specific rates are the stiff ones?
because thats what i was kind of thinking it meant.
so either way the progressives are the way to go.

Yeah that's what I meant[:-]. I dunno what the Specific would be good for other than maybe AutoX

specific rate springs are for racing and are real stiff. progressive rate spring gets progressivly stiffer the more the suspension compresses. get progressive rate springs for a street car.

im liking my coil overs - and by the time you by springs, bust your shocks and buy caster camber plates ( which youll need) the coil over suspension is actually CHEAPER!

I got BBK specific springs on my 88 GT. They're pretty damn stiff. I wish I would of went with the progressive ones instead.
