Default State Inspections

I have to get my car inspected soon, and I was wondering if they would care that my windows are too dark. The driver and passanger windows can't be any darker than 35% in Missouri, and I have 5%. Can they fail me because of that? I know I could just put the windows down, but the passanger window is broken and hardly opens or closes(need to rebuild the window motor, I think), and I don't want it to get stuck inside the door.

Emissions are different.

State safety inspections include checking the windshield wipers, lights, tires... You know, stuff that keeps you safe.

Would I fail if my windows didn't work? (Put them down and disconnect the power to them so they can't open them unless they feel like tearing the door panel off.)

In NY you dont need side windows to pass inspections and only the cops can give you crap about tint- its not part of the safety inspection.
Safety inspections are usually just for lights, windshield and mirrors (no cracks), tires, front end stuff (balljoints, etc) and brakes.

Alright, cool.

For the brakes... I'm not sure, I haven't driven too many Fox mustangs, but mine you have to push really hard to stop; probably halfway to the floor. Will that be okay to pass? Is there any way to make it... not be like that without upgrading to better brakes?

When I moved from OK to Misery, I had to peel the tint off my side windows. I lived in Springfield and could not find a shop that would pass my truck. I know thats not what you want to hear, but just try to pass it as it is, if nothing else, you may have to peel the tint at the shop. Your brakes should be fine, they didnt check mine that I remember.

Well, I only used the $9 stuff from WalMart, so it's not like it matters a whole lot. I just don't want to spend another 4 hours putting it back on.

F*ck... It's not like I'm going to kill a cop because he can't see me when my windows are up...

Here in NC they can fail you if your windows are too dark. We can only have 35% too butas soon as my car is done I'm going to about 15%. I'm sure you could find someone that could hook you up. Goodluck
