Default Type 65 Coupe

Now before you think I'm talking about a 65 mustang coupe I'm not. I am considering putting together a 65 coupe from factory five. http://www.factoryfive.com/coupehome.htmlI used to have a 2000 GT and recently sold it. I've always wanted one of these and most of the parts used to put it together come from the foxbodies. The kit itself is $14990 + a donor Fox. Was wondering if anyone has had any experience with kit cars or just had any general comments. I'm going to go to the bank here in a week or so to see what they can do. Your supposed to be able to do the whole car for the $14900 + a decent donor + any new parts I'd want to add. I think this would be an awsome car to drive around.

It'd be a neat project, but with something like that it usually helps to have some sorta fabrication or welding experience. That being said, if you have some welding experience, get a welder if you ain't got one and go for it. If you don't, then take a welding class, get a welder if you ain't got one and go for it

I do have a MIG welder but no welding is supposed to be necessary

If I had the money I'd like to do a kit car, prolly a lil Cobra Roadster. If you can do it, I'd go for it. But I wouldn't take out a loan to do it, save up and then you don't have to worry about making a payment.

I have built 4 FFR Cobras. 1 is in the garage right now nearing completion. If you want to get a look at it just let me know.

That would be a great project. I almost purchased a similar kit a few years ago from Classis Coaches in Florida. Good luck, should be fun!

There is O fab work with that car. They are very straight forward with the assembly process. Remember you are working on a car with the body off.

They arent hard to do, the chassis comes pre welded. BUT, when you start upgrading stuff the price goes up fast. Especially if you want to up the performace over a stock 302. Did you look at the wheel prices?
That price is with a used engine, trans and rear end. Might look at the prices of a completed one, that would give you a better idea of the cost involved.

Price does completely depend on what parts you use. My first Cobra was built under 20 kwith all used parts. Second was mid 20's and the third was all top notch parts, everything was new and a upgrade over stock, it was built for low to mid 30's. The coupe can be done for mid thirties if you are careful .
