Default A few suspension questions...

I'm going to be lowering my Mustang soon.
What are your opinions on Hotchkis lowering springs? I have a friend who is a dealer for them so I can get them for a good price. Mainly ride quality, etc. If these aren't any good I'll be getting the Eibach pro-kit...
What about shocks? I want to replace the shocks while I'm at it, but I want the cheapest shocks/struts I can buy that are actually worth a damn.

I know I may need camber plates, but what about camber bolts? I have seen a few people mention them but very little info. They are much cheaper than the plates, any insight on this?

What about sway bars? Like I said my friend is a dealer for Hotchkis so I can get the bars for a good price. Are they worth it? I wont be doing much if any drag racing with this car. I might take it to a SCCA race if I feel up to it, but mainly I want to handle better on the street.

Sorry for all the questions, but I want to do this right the first time.

BTW, my budget is about $900

I may feel stupid for asking.. but don't most Mustang's or maybe just the GTs already come with Sway Bars installed?

Yeah, they have front and rear sway bars, but I'm looking into aftermarket bars that are bigger/stiffer.

if you go to STEEDA they have a adjustable rear sway bar for a little over a $100 bucks that works with your stock one, not sure about your other questions

If you want to take a look at a '98 GT convertible with Steeda sport springs, Tokico blue struts & shocks and KYB quads, check out my member's gallery under '98 GT Convertible - Deannostang. Great handling and all the parts with install probably did not come to $900. When changing springs, don't forget to install new eurothane isolators. I also like the way the springs raked my car from rear to front. Some links below to check out. Good luck!

Yes Hotchkis does make good suspesnion parts. Also try Maximum Motorsports they also make great suspension products.
I myself have different companies Kenny Brown, Maximum, Koni, GT etc. Make sure if you decide on a company to go with stiff
with it. You could run into problems mix matching parts. Good Luck,
