Default Rotors....

I am in the market for new rotors. I am thinking about getting new 13 inch drilled/slotted rotors instead of the oem size cross drilled/slotted rotors. Is it ALOT more expensive to upgrade to the 13 inch rotors? (I can get all 4 oem size drilled/ slotted rotors for $200.00, and the calipers for 230.00.) I have seen (2) 13 inch rotors with (2) calipers for $500.00). So I am thinking about over $1,000 for the 13 inch brake up grade compared to $450.00, for the oem size. Money right now is an issue but I want to buy new powdercoated calipers too. So the question is, should I put the 13 inch rotors on there or stay with the stock size drilled /slotted rotors? I am also planning to drop a v8 in my car in a couple years so I would have to consider that as well... Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks.

Really wow thats cheap. But thats my point I dont want to just do the front brakes I also want to do the rears as well. Thats why Im thinking it would go to a $1,000 for everything. You can't put the bigger 13 inch rotors in the back tho right? Where did you get everything from?

I posted a article awhile ago here on rotors and such just cant remember where I found it. I believe if you do a search on corner carvers it will broaden your horizon on drilled rotors.

When you change to 13" rotors you MUST have at least 17" rims otherwise the calipers won't clear the wheel properly. I assume you probably already have 17" rims. However, if you have an older model Mustang there is the possibility you only have 15" or 16". No can do without the 17" rims to go with your 13" rotors. Just thought I'd remind you. Not fun to do an entire brake job and go to put the wheels back on and find they won't fit over your new parts.

I want to commend you guys that are smart enough to upgrade your brakes when you modify your Mustangs. Too many only look towards the ultimate speed trip with no thought towards how to stop the beast! It is "total performance" that counts, not to mention the safety aspect. Also, extra loud exhausts with "no go" are just plain annoying. You can find the definition of "all-blow-and-no-go" under Rice Burners.
