Default Gah! I need help, and fast.

I pulled my 1998 Mustang into my drive-way, took the key out and wiggled the steering wheel, I was wondering how sucky it would be to have to drive with out power steering, thinking that-- well, I don't know. I kinda tried to force it to turn, then I heard a click. I said, "Crap, well, let me turn it on and put it back to where it normally is. I put in the key, but it won't turn. Won't turn the ignition on, or back for just the radio.

What'd I do?!

Pull the steering wheel all the way to one side and try to start it again. That should unlock it.

Are you telling me to force it?

ROFL... you locked your steering wheel.

There's nothing to "fix". What you need to do is with one hand crank the wheel in the opposit direction of how you locked it in the first place as you turn the key. Don't be afraid to really pull on the wheel. The lock doesn't really allow for any wiggle room and since you locked it by manually turning it, it's really "locked" in.

yes, force the wheel, not the key.

Alright, alright. I got it. I don't know HOW.

I just kept trying to pull it to one side then I heard a click and with all my might I held that steering wheel there and turned the key... and it worked! Thanks Derf00/Bzn5150! Love you<3

P.S. I somehow managed to get the key to turn by pulling it to the right [I locked it going the right way]

And the moral is: Your car won't turn unless it's on... and if you try you lock up the ignition... :|
It's a bad idea, take my word.
