Default COOLING PROBLEM....HELP!!

I posted my problem yesterday and burped the system a little more today, and it was good for about 5-10 degrees (maybe) and the temp. was more consistent. But the car was still running hotter than I want 210-215 even on the Hwy. Before the mods it ran at about 180-195. I got the car about a month ago and I think the guy said it didnt have a thermostat in it. Would help to put on in? Would it help regulate the temp on both channels in the block? Should I go with a dual fan set-up or with a better radiator or both? Any ideas?

You definitely want to run a thermostat. The thermostat alsoacts as a flow restrictor which helps the coolant soak up the heat from the block. Also, make sure you are running a mix of coolant (60/40 coolant/water) and not straight water. What pressure is your cap rated to? Should be 13-14psi. 210-215 isn'ta problem, and most engines will naturally run there.

Dude , Get rid of that electric water pump!! most stock and aftermarket belt-driven pumps can flow as much as 100 gallons of water per minute and racing pumps can flow even more, most electric pumps flow less than half that amount. Bigger rad will help if you want to keep it and like colorado said run a thermostat ...

Colorado, i was always under the impression that straight water will give you a few degrees cooler? Ill have to check that out ...

Water is no where near as efficient as an engineered coolant. The coolants will allow for higher boiling points, which prevents damage from gas pockets in the engine...some of which you may never see on a temp gage.

thanks guys. I went with the electric water pump to try to pick-up some ponies by taking the mechanical one out. And then of course the fan bolted directly to the water pump pulley that ran constant. I had no idea that some of the mechanical pumps cranked out so much flow. I paid close to $400 for the pump so i think i'll hang on to it for a while, plus that billet aluminum looks nice.
