If you have to hire a mechanic to do the work for you thenHALF the $'s you will be spending will beon labor costs [:@]

That's not really an option. I don't care for the style of the newer 'stangs, and there's no point in buying another '01 since you never know what you'll get with a used.
I hear ya on the labor costs - its one of the reasons I was looking to do the engine and tranny at the same time. Fortunately I have friends/contacts that will help me with the majority of it (I hope!) Problem is, they can do the work but aren't exactly experts in making suggestions, which is why I came here. Like all of you, my car is my baby and I don't want to mess her up!
