Well half the time my car is in Bakersfield, CA and during the summer its 100+ degrees most of the time, and I wouldn't really want to have to worry about overheating and I figure that a 331 would be a bit easier to keep cooler, plus its just something my dad beat into my head that a 347 would be too much for the climate there. Also I don't pussyfoot around when I drive, it would get driven hard, and I want to make sure it's reliable, though I know 347s can be made quite reliable, I just wouldn't want to mess with it being right on the edge of the capabilites of that block. Hopefully I made sense, though I'm sure some of if not most of my reasoning is wrong.

i had no problem keeping mine cool with the factory sn95 cooling system.

the only benefit of a 331 is maybe less machine work because on some you dont have to notch the cyclinder walls.

Well I can see it being more efficient in a newer model car, I'm thinking in regards to my classic, and the fact that I've had issues cooling it in the past without a stroked motor.

on a 347 the cyclinder walls have to have a groove cut into them so the rod bolts can clear
