Default Newbie needing help buying

Ok... i'm not exactly a newbie, but to mustangs i am. I've decided to trade in my chevy for a 98-99 gt stang. I've tested both a 98 gt manual and a 99 gt automatic converable, and i like both. They are both going for 9000 so price is not an issue on these two. what are some reccomendations? should i go with the 99 auto or 98 manual? I do plan on moddifing.

As far as mods go, I agree, go with the 99, different body styles though, depends on what you like, and personal preference also for auto or manual.

I too would go with the 99, you can find a good shift kit to install in it along with gears. (I have a auto and am going to be doing gears and shift kit within a month) But it does depend on the body style that you like.

I'd say go with the 99-- you've got more HP to start with and it'll probably respond better to mods. There won't be much change between in insurance or the price to buy, so it's really up to what you think will be better for you. How is the mileage on both? Little things to look at while you decide.

If you plan on modding, it all depends on which body style you like and if you would be happier with an auto or manual tranny. With mods either one will kick a$$. I would prolly get the one with the lower milage. If you grab the 98, just do a PI swap. Dont overlook it just because its pre-PI. PI swaps are getting cheaper and simpler by the day. BCisme has a bad a$$ SN95 with a PI swap and he is running some very nice numbers. Even without the swap, a S/C or N20 would compliment it quite nicely .
