Default Antenna

My mustang came with a large antenna, and it's very un-preportionate to the car.

I have a 12" antenna that fits GM cars, or at least a 1989 gmc s-15, and a 1996 GMC Jimmy.

Is there a way to get this antenna on the mustang without major reconstructive surgery?

I was thinking an adapter would work, a female to male, since the mustang is female (on the car) and the antenna is female.

If you have customized the antenna, please let me know how, and if there is a thread or site that would help me a long the way, plase let me know about it, thanks.

you can simply pop off the little end cap on your factory antenna, then trim it to a length that is more acceptabable to you. then re-touch the paint if you need to and replace the little cap. Just remember, a shorter ant will gieve you less reception.

a second option that I will throw out is buy a powered inside the glass one from pep-boys, autozone, what ever your local pastrts store is. I know you said you dont have the 20 bucks, but if you really want a clean looking car, this helps. I had one in my 3000GTadn it worked out good. granted you gotta do something about he hole on your fender.. which will cost more money... and you already said you dont have 20 bucks.. ok this isnt the answer for you. Go re-read my forst paragraph.

I already have a short antenna. I will just have to get some sort of conversion for female to female.
