Default Which Stang?

Hi,

I am 16 years old now, and I still don't have my license, or a job... Looking for both though... I was just wondering, which mustang should I get, from this year range; 1999-2004? and which Model, like 4.6? V6? Cobra? SVT? WHICH ONE? Also, if possible, Imma try to find one for less than $10,000. Yes, I am thinkin of tuning it later on in life, when I pay for the car, then gonna do some interior, exterior, and engine, etc. All is gonna help me performance, and safety wise (to make insurance less expensive ;-)) Hope some of you pro's can help me out :-D

Hit ya' up lata!
Casper D.

mods dont affect insurance. the vin # is what insurance ppl go off of. 99-00 v6s have 3 less hp than 01-04 and the spoiler is diff and interior is a tad diff, and the wheels are diff. if you have a ton of $$ for insurance get a gt. get a 99-04 what you are willing to spend based on milage and price, not price alone. i can tell you from how i drive, if it has a lot of miles on a stang, they are hard miles. i drive my stang for all its worth. or you can get a 99 v6 for 5k dollars or less right now and mod the helll outta it for 5 more k. i got mine back in oct for 5k so im dure you can get a good deal.

If anyting, get a stang that you only have to have liabliity on. You will get RAPED if you buy a GT and have to buy comprehensive. If i was youl...i'd get a 94/95 GT .

Why not get a older slower car until you learn how to drive and establish some history with the insurance companies before you worry about getting a Stang, especially one with a V-8 engine. this way you will save lots of money on car insurance which I'm sure your folks will appreciate too.

as somebody else already said, insurance wont be your friend if your only 16 and getting a GT.
im 20, and im paying 8** something for 6 months, but i only drive it 9 out of 12 months, but its still bad come insurance time..

if you really want a 99-04 Mustang, get a 99 or 00 V6,,, i have NEVER been a big fan of 4 and 6 cyl. mustangs, but i see the purpose and need for them (now that ive covered my ***)

but if you get a 99 or 00 3.8 with LOW miles, you can find a nice one for around 6-8thousand.

good luck

yea i have a 2000 v6 and the insurance is like 130 a month, which is way lower than wat i used to pay 6 months ago which was 226 a month. insurance companies will wreck u just cuz of the name "mustang"...but if u get a gt, hahahahahaha hahahahahahahha lets just say, i hope u or ur rents have a good job. (unless u kno an insurance agent who can hook u up)

my first car is a v6 and im happy wit it, i was gonna spend money modding my car, but im also in college, so basically my plans now is to save up for a 2001 or up black mustang gt (manual), that way i have a good engine to work wit and i can mod it....wit my v6, im basically gonna ride it til it dies (hopefully itll give me about 2 or 3 more years)

but yeah u should be able to find a low mileage 1999-2002 v6 for under $10,000

i agree with the rest of the guys. a GT for a guy who doesn't know how to handle big horsepower is not very smart. its like letting a newbie ride a suzuki hayabusa....suicide. no offense to the 3.8 guys, but the words 6-cylinder and mustang are oxymorons...defeats the purpose to me. BUT...i'm getting bent over when it comes to the $60/week i spend in gas just to get to work. i now see why a v6 comes in handy. but if your gonna go get a v6, go get a supra!
i'm one of the lucky few...i'm 21 and am paying $213/month for full coverage on my 01 GT ,01 Corrolla and 03 GSXR 600. GO STATE FARM!!!

This is true, dealerships are selling the 2004 v6's for madd cheap now.

If u live wit a lot of traffic, get an auto, but it u wanna have fun, get a stick. I got stuck with an auto [>:] (but then again i only paid $200 bucks for my 2000 v6, so....good)

where in the hell do you live? 04's for 8K brand new? i dont buy it, no way,
i need some proof before i believe that..

the dealer around here has a 04 convertable with the v6 for 1000 dollars less than the 05 GT was a couple weeks ago... however, this could explain why its still on the lot...
