i recently purchased a stang prob is it sounds like a street swepper all the air is comming out somewhere and it has no power you can tel the power is there its just not gettin to the wheels if anyone can help id be greatly appreciative

 

it sounds like the air is comming out of somewhere? well check your intake to make sure all connections are snug and check the exhaust. some people unbolt or atleast PARTIALLY unbolt the exhaust (not sure if thats too loud to be the "air" or not, i have no idea wut ur saying) and it kills the torque

 

I hope you are wrong when you say the power is there just not getting to the wheels.Could be a variety of things but the big question is it an automatic or standard?
Assuming it is a standard 1st place to look would be the clutch. Does the engine rev high and you don't go anywhere? then suddenly go? Symptyms in an automatic are similar high reving eratic shifts etc. Sorry but you best find a good transmission mechanic.

 

What Stang did you get? It could be a ton of things. When I got mine it was only running on 7 cylinders. Have your engine checked out.

 

i know that street sweeper sound, when i first started my car after the heads/cam i had a big vaccum leak and it soundid like that. Check all the vaccum lines and make sure their arent any holes/loose connections

 

I GOT A 1999 GT I DOUBT ITS THE CLUTCH BECAUSE IT MOVES FINE IT SOUNDS LIEK IM SQUEZZING THE AOR MACHINE WITHOUT IT BEIN ON A TIRE WELL I CHECKED THE HOSES AND I NOTICED IT COMING FORM SOMWHERE NEAR THE DRIVERS SIDE NEAR THE WINDSHIELD IT AS IF THERES SUPPOSE TO BE SOMETHING THERE BECAUSE THE AIR IS SHOTTING OUT IM AN AVID MECHANIC JUST NEW TO THE STANG GAME FELLAS SO BE EASY ON ME BUT LOVE DA HELP YOU GUY ARE DA GREATEST
