I was wondering what is included in the 2003-2004 4.6L COBRA SUPERCHARGER UPGRADE KIT from whipple? With only this upgrade and nothing else, how much hp can I make? If I get this kit, is it mandatory for me to purchase additional parts (like pulleys, belts, supercharger inlet). Thank in advance for any help.

 

the upgrade kit should come with a different pulley, since you will be running higher boost, the only thing you might want to upgrade is the fuel system. i think if your car is stock with the whipple at about 15 psi you can get 'close' to 500 rwhp depending on the tune.

 

what else would I need to hit 600+ wrhp? (with the whipple)

 

a couple of bolt-ons with the blower upgrade will get you 600 + rwhp. . you can get low 500 rwhp numbers with the stock blower and bolt-ons. if your car is stock i strongly recommend u get a k&n fipk kit. it's the first and only thing done to my dads (sort of mine) 03 cobra. it ran 367,371,and 368 rwhp bonestock. it has run 388 rwhp with the kit. u can get one off ebay for 165 bucks with shipping like i did. it makes your blower sound a little louder and it gives u about 1 more psi.

 

out NVMC dyno day, i saw a stock 03 cobra (except catback) run a 400RWHP even. they dropped in just a K&N filter and it got 425RWHP on it's second run. FREAK!

 

yea those are some really good numbers. and they arent that all uncommon. catbacks for the cobra like the borla stinger, and slp loudmouth usually add between 18-25 rwhp. and a good cold air kit adds around 23-25 rwhp. so yea with those 2 u can expect 420 ish rwhp.

 

this wasn't a CAI kit, this was JUST a K&N filter. that's what was so surprising about it.

 

The Whipple kit also comes with a new MAF, I believe. Depending on the hp you are shooting for, you may need to upgrade the fuel pump and fuel injectors. Your also going to have to get your car tuned so that's a cost, although I think the Whipple kit may come with a chip, I can't remember, but in any case it won't be customized for your application. Dyno tunes can get costly. But I am interested in the numbers you produce after making the change and the cost associated with it so I can start saving...

are you sure it wasnt the k&n fipk kit. it looks like just a filter. but it isn't. it doesnt look like a normal cai. its just a filter on the normal passenger side fenderwell. i know installed mine. it was easy as hell to do. and you really do feel the difference. not bad. 25 rwhp for 150 bucks.

 

I am running 14 psi with the stock eaton as seen in my sig I made over 500 rwhp!
