cooling problem??????

Default cooling problem??????

ok soo i bought a 1989 mustang notch back and well i didnt notice that the car after several hours it started to heat up....but this wasdurring traffic but as soon as i got in the freeway and steped on it i notice that the cars temp whent down...... any body might know what might b the problem??????
im guessing it might have something to do with t he cooling system

If you are talking about the car warming
up from being cold, the temperature will
always overshoot the normal range untill
the thermostat opens and allows
the coolant to circulate.

I suspect you may have a problem with the
thermostat I would keep an eye on the
temp gauge till you are comfortable
with it.
Check the coolant level. It should be up to
the top of the radiator if the cap is removed
cold.
It is also possible that you have an air bubble in the
system which needs to be purged.

Check the fan clutch. But after serveral hours in traffic, any car is going to start to run hot.

hmm well from the guy that sold me the car he says that it is the fan clutch......well i hope thats my problem
