Default Enging start rev question

Why does it rev right off the bat?? First start it in the morning, it will instantly rev to 2100+/- rpms, then go back to normal. I hate this. It's bad for the top end when there is no oil yet. After it runs for 10 seconds it idles fine, so I ruled out the IAC. What should I look at?

BTW: It is an 87 LX with 94 GT motor(MAF). 5-speed.

Default RE: Enging start rev question

You'll have to reprogram the computer. It's a myth that it's bad for the top end, unless you're using water as a lubricant and have zero run in time on the engine.
