me and my brother have been arguing about this for a while , he says he 100% sure that cold air intake does nothin for the car, no horsepower or anything. hes says no matter how much air it sucks in it goes through the same size pipe so therefor it does nothin. please explain it so i can show him and shut him up for once.

 

hes right, it does absolutely nothing that is why so many companies make them and so many people buy them. tell him to put a old factory air filter in his vehicle and change it every year and you can buy a cold air which you can HEAR sucking more air, and never need to buy a filter again. just run a hose through it.

The difference between the weak stock air box and the BBK air intake is noticable. There is a power difference, but not nearly as much as the advertised number.

 

well theres deff. a power increase, it may be a single horse but theres gotta be SOME power increase. Hell u could probobly get a power increase by sticking a needle through ur intake and pulling it out. (of course it may not be measureable but im sure its there

 

yeah, pretty much anyone will tell you that an intake will increase hp and a little milage but you'll get way better results if you do something to let your car exhale aswell as inhale.

 

More air = mor HP
so yes a CAI will increase HP and your Gas Mileage too
the factory airbox restricts air
