I have a '94 GT and under load I can hear a pinging or rattle in the engine compartment. And at hard acceleration the engine rpms go up but the car doesn't match in acceleration nor power.Iis it a fuel issue or sensor? Could the pinging sound I hear be coming from the Catlytic Converter?

 

try a higher octane fuel. premium... if it doesn't ping that's the problem. if it stops pinging with premium, buy some seafoam at your autoparts store and suck 1/3 of the can up through the brake booster vac line. just follow the directions on the back of the can. it will get rid of carbon buildup, which could cause a higher compression causing the pinging.
otherwise.. i don't know.
