Default front end issues?

I have 1992 gt car had intrax lowering springs on it when i got it rode a little rough but was tolerable, I put set of welds on it 3.5 in front and now at about 60 mph steering wheel shakes alot shakes till about 100mph then pretty much stops. I figure it has to do with the wheels, can you align a car running 3.5 wheels or would i just be wasting my money?

Default RE: front end issues?

If those are the wheels that you will be riding on, then the alignment should be done with them. Shop around for a shop that has experience with modded cars for street/strip. Unfortunately that will not resolve the shaking issue. More than likely, considering how narrow they are that its a bent rim. First have them balanced again and have the tech look for any runout. The tires may be another, although harder to diagnose problem (broken/ slipped belt etc)
