I have a '66 with a 302 2 bbl. There's an annoying knock that sounds like a push rod. I replaced the hyd. lifters thinking that one of them had collapsed, but the knocking persists. I tightened the rockers to the torque specifications, but still knocks. I'm dry of ideas. Also, I just finished a three year restoration of the car. It has been sitting for 4 years.

 

is it metallic?..can you pin point which side?...could be fuel pump,rod,wrist pin,collasped lifter.rocker arm that doesn't stay tight.
