Default Oil feed line?

I am installing a Vortech supercharger in my stang. One of the installation steps includes drilling into the oil pan for a oildrain fromthe supercharger. Howcan I drill the hole in the pan to insure that I don't get any metal chips or debri in my oil?

You can also punch the pan to give the fitting some more meat to thread into (for steel pans, anyway).
