Default The old guy needs help. Memery is gone

Hey all, sorry it's been awhile. I've been laid up with a burn for a few months. Yup, this dumba** played with fuel injection and didn't unplug the coil wire.

Anyway....Here's what I need to know. I've got an 82 5.0 out of a Mustang. It runs a 2bbl carb. I know these engines can be built. So far I've got my Edlebrok manifold, 600 Holley, Mustang shorty headers, and the good aluminum heads. The heads are 60cc. Here's the problem. I want to raise the compression to at least 9 or 10 to 1. I also know that you can raise compression by switching heads for smaller combustion chambers. But, I got the ones that can flow some air! Where can I find high compression pistions? Who makes ones that will give me the 10 to 1 with the 60cc chambers? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

contact the guys at www.coasthigh.com. they are the engine building side of Probe Industries who makes all kinds of pistons for 5.0 engines and I'm sure they can help you figure out what you need to get.

Thanks roundman, That is exactly what I was looking for. The pop ups are a little too much in the compression for me. The dished are way too low, but good for turbos. So, it leaves flat tops for me. I'll have to live with the 9.3 to 1 compression ratio. Prolly better anyway so I can live with pump gas. I appreciate the heads up.

if you have flat tops..try this you can shave 30,000 th off the heads but I would also do the intake so the ports will match also you can play with head gasket thickness....with this you can up compression about .50 and it won't cost you much..just a thought
