Default doors not closng flush?

hey, i dunno if this is a problem, but i was looking at my car on the way out of my house today, and i noticed it looks like there is a small gap between the door and the car, as if it is ever so slightly ajar. (when i say gap, i mean like its sticking out away from the car - not front to back but to the side, if that makes sense).

however the door feels like its firmly closed, and as far as i can tell the other side is the same way. its very slight, but i dunno if its ok. i looked at another mustang on the way to the subway, and it looked like it had the same issue (its a v6 also, if it matters, but its body kitted so i dunno if thats a good compareson, since when they did body work maybe they messed up his doors...) .

however the GT that i saw (there are a bunch of mustangs parked between my house and the train station... hehe) a block later did not look like it had the issue. anyone else ever see this problem? is it just wear and tear? the door is closed pretty tight and stuff, so im not worried about falling about or anything..

Default RE: doors not closng flush?

My driver side door also has a slight gap in it. These are very heavy doors and i replaced the hinge studs with the brass bushings from advance auto for less than $10 but mine still has a slight gap almost like the door needs to be pushed in another quater inch, my passenger side door close perfectly. My gap is less than before but im going to try replacing the striker bolt next. When your door is open all the way are you able to lift the door slightly up and down? If so replace the studs and bushings sorry i dont know the proper name for them.Good Luck!

the strike on the body where the door locks to, lossen it and move it in a little go slow dont take to much at atime when you do it.
